FAQS

WHERE WILL MY APPOINTMENT BE HELD?

Appointments will be carried out in clinic, virtually online or face-to-face in your home.

At home we will sit and discuss your condition and then, with your consent, carry out a physical examination. Typically, physical examinations are carried out in your own bedroom for privacy.

DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?

No, you do not need a doctors referral, you can self-refer for physiotherapy, simply book an appointment. If a doctors input is necessary I will write a letter to your preferred doctor.

I AM A PARENT, CAN MY BABY BE AT THE APPOINTMENT?

Yes, we can happily work around the needs of your baby, and we will get as much covered as possible in the session whilst allowing for feeding or cuddles. Sometimes parts of the session need to be postponed until next time due to babies needing their parent. We request that toddlers and older children not be present in the room during vaginal or rectal examinations.

HOW LONG WILL MY APPOINTMENT LAST?

Appointment length will vary depending on your needs and the goals of the session. Typically initial consultations will last 60 minutes and follow-up consultations will last 30-60 minutes, depending on the time slot booked. Telephone or video consultations will last up to 30 minutes.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A VAGINAL/RECTAL EXAMINATION?

Please see the examinations explained page for a detailed explanation.
